Lisa Hayden is a contemporary abstract artist creating colorful paintings in an abstract expressionist style. She studied painting at the University of Miami, where the vibrant colors of the warm ocean, palm trees, and pastel houses have had a lasting influence on her art for over 25 years.
A creative force in her work is a love of nature and how it interacts with our human lives, and the feel of the ocean, whether it is a cool Cape Cod morning or a clear blue beach day in the South.
abstracts and abstract seascapes
Materials and Techniques
I use both acrylics and inks to create colorful abstract paintings full of color and texture as well as abstract seascapes. I like lots of layers and little details, and will sometimes use acrylic paint markers to add to the expression of the piece. My large wall paintings are usually acrylic, and my smaller matted pieces are inks on Yupo paper with a mix of abstracts, abstract seascapes, and abstract mountainscapes.
