Artist Bio
Nature is an important part of my life and in my painting. Being in nature puts things in perspective and being in my studio makes life fulfilling. I am primarily a landscape painter trying to capture the essence of the place in both pastel and acrylic. I am not concerned with how accurate it is – what is important to me is the expression of color, line and movement. And the feeling it brings out in me. This leads me into more abstract ways of expression which surprises and delights me.

Rather than stay in my comfort zone of traditional landscape painting I am moving towards a more abstract way of expression. Using mixed media including pastel, acrylic paint, charcoal and ink gives me the freedom to explore, experiment and create unexpected landscapes and abstract paintings. Paintings that reflect my love of color, line markings, texture and mood.
