Artist Bio

LAURIE ENGDAHL ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Laurie has been painting as long as she can remember; her work often focuses on the New England landscape, capturing light and shadow and their influence on the landscape. More recently, she has been exploring loose and abstract floral still life subject matter in both oils and watercolors.

Laurie’s art education has included numerous workshops with artists Amy Brnger, Betty Lou Schlemm, Serge Hollerbach, Nancy Howell, Paul George, Emily Passman, Maris Platais. In 2016, Laurie completed a Master of Arts in Teaching (Visual Arts) at Salem State University.

I paint in both oils and watercolors. I have been painting in a more expressionist “looser” style as I continue to develop my painting skills and voice.
