The process begins with making hand thrown or formed pottery from porcelain. What happens during the firing stage is about chemistry, glaze application temperature fluctuations and the will of the pottery gods! All of these things can result in beautiful crystal growth of various size, color and location on each piece. Even when everything is done perfectly often there is no crystal growth whatsoever.
